Waxahachie, TX – As we close the year, I want to reflect on the progress we’ve made in 2024
and share my vision for the year ahead. Serving the people of Texas’ 6th Congressional District
is one of the greatest honors of my life, and I remain committed to delivering results that make a
real difference for our district and our country.
Over the last three and a half years, I have worked hard to deliver meaningful results. As we
prepare to move into the 119th Congress and a Trump Administration, it’s important to look
back on what we’ve accomplished together, even under the challenges of a divided Congress
and a Biden Presidency.
Key Accomplishments in 2024:
- Reaching Texans Where They Are: Whether through telephone town halls or face-to-
face conversations, I’ve connected with over 290,000 of you this year. Additionally, my
team and I have assisted nearly 1,500 constituents in navigating government
bureaucracy, made over 17,000 calls on your behalf, and personally visited with more
than 10,000 residents and families. - Protecting What Matters: I’ve led efforts to pass the Protecting American Agriculture
from Foreign Adversaries Act, strengthening oversight of foreign purchases of U.S.
farmland. This legislation ensures we’re standing firm against adversaries like the
Chinese Communist Party. - Protecting Small Businesses: Small business is what this country was founded on. It’s
a dream and a goal of many Texans and Americans, and the federal government has
hindered that dream for too long. Since I have been in Congress, I’ve pushed back
against harmful regulations, calling for investigations into the Biden Administration’s
overreach and working to create an environment where businesses can thrive. - Securing the Border: The border crisis demands immediate action. I’ve championed
the Secure the Border Act, which strengthens enforcement, ends “catch and release,”
and resumes border wall construction. The House has done its job, and I will continue
urging the Administration to do theirs. - Reining in Wasteful Spending: As a member of the Appropriations Committee, I’ve
worked on a budget that reduces non-defense spending by 6% while investing in critical
priorities like border security. It’s time to focus taxpayer dollars where they’re needed
most.
Looking back, I am proud of the progress we’ve made—whether it’s standing firm against
foreign adversaries, addressing the opioid crisis, or holding Washington accountable for how it
spends your hard-earned money. These accomplishments are a testament to what we can
achieve when we stay focused on the issues that matter most to us.
As we move into 2025, I am optimistic about the opportunities ahead. With a new
administration, we have the chance to build on the strong foundation we’ve laid. I’m ready to hit
the ground running from Day 1, to protect our values, strengthen the economy, and secure a
brighter future for the American people.
Thank you for placing your trust in me to represent you. It is a privilege to serve Texas’ 6th
Congressional District, and I remain dedicated to working every day to honor that trust.
